Long Weekend

I hope everyone has been enjoying their long weekend, i know we have. It has been a very eventful weekend to say the least.
On friday we began the long weekend with Chris and Nik laying down some Turf. So now our lawn is complete, and is looking so nice and green.

Then in the mid afternoon we headed out to celebrate Oma Pine's 75th Birthday Bash. It began with family photos and then rolled into a night full of laughs, with funny skits, plays and movies, delicious spit roast and yummy cheesecakes. And of course ABBA singstar. We are very blessed to be party of a large loving family and to enjoy oma's birthday together.

On saturday after having a nice relaxing morning, Chris and myself stuck into rendering the pizza oven and replanting the veggie garden.
Here is the veggie garden with all the new seasonal herbs and veggies. (all set for putting on pizzas!)
We then spent about 6 hours rendering the pizza oven. Chris has still to do one more coat just to make it look all smooth. But yes ladies and gentlemen after about 6 months, we are happy to announce that the pizza oven is now finished!!!! after we let it dry for a week and a bit, we will be then having pizza's galore!

Our saturday night though, was one full of excitment. Chris and I didnt really think to much about the lime in the render/concrete and so didnt wear gloves. I only helped chris for a few hours, so my hands were not to dried out. But after dinner chris' hands were a bit sore, so he went to have a shower. Once he was out, looking very worried he came to me and showed me his hands/fingers. On 2 of his fingers there were these greeny looking sores/burns and his hands were red raw. So after dropping Sophie of at the folks, and spending 2 hours in the emergeny room, then having a bemused doctor look at them, Chris was 'diagnosed' with Caustic Burns or Cement burns, which eats at your skin if not treated. So no more cement handling for him!!

notice her new way of 'standing'. Sophie just started doing this. She mostly does it when she wants to see something that is up high. One step closer to the walking phase i guess..argh!

'wassa' is her new fav 'word' and is always followed by the pointing of 2 fingers.

Park Picnic

Had a lovely picnic at Minawarra Park today with, Katie, Tilly, Aloise and Summer. With a big variety of yummy food, wonderful sunny weather and great company, it was a wonderful lunch time out.
