sophie's room

finally got round to taking photos of sophies 'new big girl' room.
also for the last week she has been sleeping in her 'big girl' bed, and loving it.
(and we happy because she transitioned really well, still sleeping her 12 hours at night, and 2 hour day naps. yay)

We've finished setting up the nursery.
Hospital bags are packed.
Names list sort of getting smaller.
now to paintently await the arrival of bubba.

bring on summer

after enjoying the glorious 34 degrees we had on monday (public holiday) at the beach, jetskiing.  We cannot wait for Summer to arrive.




Park adventures

Walked to the park after church on Sunday, to enjoy the glorious sunshine as a family. Sophie had endless fun on the swings with her daddy

aah caffè

Went out for a family coffee date to the Dome last night. 
Delicious coffees, warm scones with jam + cream, and Sophie got to try her first babycino!

Whoopie!!

pies... :)

Did you know that according to food historians, Amish women would bake these desserts (known as huckle bucks, or creamy turtles at the time) and put them in farmers' lunch boxes. When farmers would find the treats in their lunch, they would shout "Whoopie!" Cute huh.

Tried a recipe like this:

with a few minor adjustments.
It was fun to make, although the first batch didnt really rise like in the picture, so i put them in muffin trays for nice high 'pies.'
I also made a white chocolate ganache with strawberrys for in the middle.
So delicious!!
I also made some chocolate whoopie pies with choc mint ganache filling. so yum!!
