blueberry + apple swiss roll..

Today i felt like baking, and this caught my eye in one of my baking books. it seemed easy to make, and it had the ingredients that i was limited to in my fridge.
best part it only took about 20 mins total (10 prep/10 cooking, and then cooling time) to make the whole thing! love baking when i don't have to wait to long to try it!
verdict: yummy and moist sponge, with the loveliness of blueberry +  apple inside. defiantly going to bake this again.

my greatest critic enjoying a piece.

heffalumps + woozles

10 week countdown has begun. Yay!

We had a doctors appointment thursday afternoon, everything is going fantastic. Doctor was happy with the progress of myself and bubs. I do however have to keep taking pregnancy supplements as my iron is on the low side, and i need the magnesium as well to counteract the fun shin cramping i get.

And since its fun to do, and you really cant help it there has been a lot of comparing between the pregnancy's. Just to list a few:
  • I weigh exactly the same at 30 weeks with sophie and this pregnancy.
  • Sophie laid higher , often hanging out with my ribs and she was in a oblique anterior position. (meaning laying across) and she didnt rotate till around 36 weeks. This baby is already laying with its head down and bum near my ribs. Although at the last scan, he/she had its head resting on its shoulder, like it was checking to see who was there. The doctor thought it was hilarious.
  • Its also fun to compare baby bumps. Im not really noticing much difference on the photos.
- Also its funny how you give the baby nicknames. Sophie was alien due to one of her facial ultrasound photos. This baby was for awhile called 'the new baby' but since im starting to feel a lot like a heffalump these days, the baby's been renamed 'woozle'. Quite fitting really.

As always, we are thankful to our heavenly father for giving us this wonderful blessing, for also being with me during this pregnancy.

Now the fun part starts.. counting down the weeks, booking into the hospital, setting up the nursery, nesting, choosing a name... ideas always welcome! :) Sophie's name wasnt chosen until about 2 weeks before she was born , and we were still undecided on the boys name. So i hope we can be a bit more prepared this time?

To be thankful

There is so much to be thankful for!
And sometimes i/we are at fault of either expecting them or not even noticing what wonderful things are present in my/our lives.

Last night we listed in our prayer all that we could be thankful for, and suddenly the minor complaints fall away when we realize how blessed we truly are.

Just to name a few things in my life i can be thankful for:

- just purchasing a new car.
- a 'perfect' pregnancy. Although i do have my odd complaints, there is nothing i have to truly worry about, it has all been 'smooth sailing'
- the sweetest husband who last night, said to me.  "Im sorry for not saying thankyou enough for what you do at home. If i (chris) was 7 months pregnant, with a toddler to chase and a house to maintain , i would probably crawl back to bed by 10am. So thankyou for a tidy house, happy daughter and dinner on the table. Sometimes its the messy moments that make me realize how much i dont thankyou. At work its a wonderful feeling when someone thanks you for what you have done, and so ill try thank you more for your 'work'Isn't he just the sweetest :D
- the cutest + cheekiest daughter. We videoed her the other, (ive got to learn how to edit videos to upload on the blog) and it just shows her funny personality. She keeps me on my toes, but ive always got a smile on my face when she is around.
- family that we have in our lives. From our mums + dads, siblings all along to our extended family. I dont know how i would survive without having them close by. also extra thankyou to family members for loaning out their cars to us, so that we have been able to get around in the last 2 months)
- friendships + playdates.
- faith, which may be this far on the dotted list ,but is always the first thing to be thankful for. For a heavenly Father who keeps us in his grace.
- roof over heads. especially love the fact of having a tin roof when it rains.
- food on the table and in our bellies.
and the list could go on.

It really is an uplifting thing to be able to count our blessing. And im going to try and do this more often!

New Car!

We said goodbye to the Astra in June, when it decided to just give up.

So after 2 and a bit months of looking around, we found
'The Car.'
A 2006 Ford Focus Sedan.
A beautiful granite color.
Drives like a dream.
Even has reverse parking sensors, so it makes a lovely pretentious beeping noise when you've reversed to close to something. Makes me feel just that little bit snobby :D
I just love it so so much!

look what sophie has

peirced ears!!
(taken on the day)
yup thats right, i went (by myself, im actually proud of this fact, coz these kind of things make me sqweemish) and got Sophie's ears peirced on wednesday. She was an absolute angel. Sat on my lap, enjoying the attention of 2 ladies. Squirmed a little when they tried to mark it out. And then 1, 2, 3 all done. She got a little shock, let out a scream. I stood up to cuddle her, and she had already forgotten because her attention was diverted by her book i had supposedly left on the bench.
Doesnt she look so grown up!

and a side on view, of her pretty pink studs.

Kaydia ~ 3 months.

I did a maternity shoot for Lauren back in April. I now had the pleasure of photographing her adorable daughter Kaydia. With the cutest cheeks, big blue eyes and hesitant smiles it was a fun session.
